British PM: Easier to Defend Israel from Within EU

As England readies to vote on whether or not it will remain in the European Union, its leader has invoked pro-Israel bonds in the fight to stay. Israel Hayom reports that PM David Cameron says that to best defend its ally Israel, England should not leave the E.U.:

Cameron, who heads the "Remain" camp, has worked hard in recent days to drum up support. In a speech on Monday at the Jewish Care annual dinner, he appealed to the local Jewish community, saying Britain would only be able to help Israel as a member of the European Union.

"Do you want Britain, Israel's greatest friend, in there, opposing boycotts, opposing the campaign for divestment and sanctions? Or do you want us outside the room, powerless to affect the discussion that takes place?" he asked.
