American lawmakers have decided on a new solution to the problem that Iran poses to the Middle East and the free world. The Times of Israel's Richard Lardner reports that the U.S. House has approved a bill for new sanctions on the Islamic Republic because of its ongoing ballistic missile program:
The Republican-led House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved bipartisan legislation Thursday that would slap new sanctions on Iran for its pursuit of long-range ballistic missiles without derailing the 2015 international nuclear accord that US President Donald Trump has threatened to unravel.
Representatives Ed Royce and Eliot Engel sponsored the bill, which requires the Trump administration to identify for sanctions the companies and individuals inside and outside of Iran that are the main suppliers of Tehran’s ballistic missile programs.
