During his first State of the Union address as President this week, Donald Trump mentioned the American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, as well as its rethinking of foreign aid.

Also this week in Israel in the News:

  • In the streets north of Bethlehem, Palestinian protesters hanged and burned effigies of Trump and V.P. Pence.
  • The world commemorated International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
  • The IDF warned that Iran continues its support of Hezbollah, while also turning Lebanon into a "missile factory."

This week’s Israel in the News Perspective features The Fellowship’s Ami Farkas on the American decision to cut aid to those hostile to the U.S. and its interests.
