A home in the southern Israeli town of Beersheba was destroyed earlier this week when it was hit by a terrorist rocket launched from Gaza. A mother and three children were home at the time, but managed to make it into a safe room.
- Meanwhile, Israel is reacting to demonstrators along the Gaza border with strikes against Hamas military targets in Gaza. Earlier this week, the IDF bombed a Hamas position in the southern Gaza strip after two Palestinians set off an explosive device near the security fence on the border.
- As part of its economic campaign against Iran, the U.S. is planning more sanctions against Iranian businesses and banks that aid Iranian para-military forces.
- Australia is set to join the U.S. and Guatemala in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and in moving its embassy there.
- A Palestinian infant is recuperating this week in a Tel Aviv hospital after becoming the first baby to receive a heart transplant from a Jewish child.
