Photo Friday: The Work of Their Hands

Yad LaKashish (Photo: IFCJ)

"From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,
and the work of their hands brings them reward."
(Proverbs 12:14)

In this photo taken earlier this year on The Fellowship's Historic Pilgrimage to the Holy Land tour with Pat Boone, a visit was paid to Fellowship-supported Yad LaKashish in Jerusalem. Yad LaKashish (which means "lifeline for the elderly" in Hebrew) is truly a lifeline for many struggling elderly people in Israel. Here, they learn to make high-quality arts, crafts, and religious objects, which are then sold. Those who spend their days at Yad LaKashish not only receive much-needed income, hot meals, bus passes, and dental care, they receive something much more important — a sense of community. While old age can be a lonely time, the community and fellowship witnessed at Yad LaKashish is even more beautiful than the objects its members create. Shabbat shalom, friends

Passover a Sacred Time to Save Lives

Help the Unseen

You can heed the biblical mandate “not to turn away from your own flesh and blood” (Isaiah 58:7) and provide a needy elderly Jew, like Olga, with food, heating fuel, warm clothes, and blankets this winter. Every day is important as the harsh cold winds descend upon the former Soviet Union. Please prayerfully consider giving your best and most generous gift to The Fellowship today for this lifesaving work.
