Photo Friday: As the Mountains Surround Jerusalem

Jerusalem, circa 1900 (Photo: Library of Congress)

"Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the LORD surrounds his people
    both now and forevermore."
(Psalm 125:1-2).

This week, those who stand for Israel celebrated the United States' recognition of Jerusalem as the Jewish state's capital. In this photo from 1900, we see Israel's timeless and eternal Holy City as it was more than a century ago, and celebrate that it does, truly, endure forever. Shabbat shalom, friends.
