Photo Friday: All Aboard the Valley Line

As early as the 1800s, the Ottoman Empire built a railroad that ran between Haifa and Damascus. When the British, in power in the Holy Land, closed the line in 1946, no more development occurred in the area. But now, Israel has rebuilt the railway with the new Jezreel Valley Line, connecting Haifa and Jordan. Not only will this boost development, but it is now one of the most scenic railway lines in Israel - something Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara saw for themselves this week while riding on the new route's inaugural run. Shabbat shalom, friends.
