Nikki Haley Resigns as US Ambassador to the UN

This week in an unexpected announcement, Nikki Haley said that she will be stepping down as American Ambassador to the U.N. at the end of the year. Her departure will end the tenure of one of the most prominent members of the Trump administration.

  • Israeli leaders reacted to Haley’s announced resignation, saying that Israel will lose one of its most outspoken champions. Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon said Haley will be missed “because she was bold and brave in representing the mutual values of the U.S. and Israel.”
  • Two Israelis were killed on Sunday when a Palestinian terrorist opened fire at an industrial park in the West Bank. On Thursday, two Israelis were injured in a terrorist attack outside an army base, also in the West Bank.
  • On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed a terrorist tunnel that they said was “part of, and connected to a military tunnel network.” This was the 15th tunnel destroyed by the IDF since last October.
  • The Fellowship is committed not only to helping Jews from around the world make aliyah (immigrate to Israel), but also helping these new immigrants resettle through more than 30 klitah (resettlement) projects.

This week’s Israel in the News Perspective features The Fellowship’s Ami Farkas with thoughts on Ambassador Nikki Haley.
