In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, the Israel Rescue Coalition and United Hatzalah of Israel were the first international search and rescue organizations to arrive in the U.S. to aid Hurricane Irma relief efforts. Both are made up of community–based EMS volunteers. The groups have also been helping in the Caribbean and with rescue efforts in Texas from Hurricane Harvey.

- In what is being called a “historic” trip, Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu became the first sitting Israeli prime minister to make a diplomatic visit to Latin America. Netanyahu visited Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.
- While in Argentina, Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the Iran nuclear deal, saying again that it is a bad deal, and if it can’t be fixed, it should be cancelled.
- The Fellowship has announced this week that they will be donating more than $2 million in gift vouchers ahead of the High Holy Days to help the neediest in Israel buy food and clothing for the holidays.
