IDF Soldier Wounded in Gaza Explosion

Riots broke out along the Israel-Gaza border on Sunday, leaving one Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier badly wounded after he was hit in the neck by shrapnel from a homemade bomb. The IDF launched a counter-attack on two positions held by the terror group Hamas.

  • Nineteen Palestinians were arrested Tuesday on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount after they tried to enter a closed area that was patrolled by Israeli security. The area, known as Gates of Mercy, was closed because the group managing it had ties to Hamas.
  • Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas rejected any funding from Israel, saying, “Every penny we have, we will transfer to the families of the martyrs.
  • As violence along the Israeli-Gaza border continues, new reports indicate that Hamas is now using women as human shields in their demonstrations.
  • Recent anti-Semitic attacks in France have prompted protests. At least 80 Jewish graves were defaced with Nazi symbols in eastern France. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the attacks, saying anti-Semitism “must be condemned wherever and whenever it rears its head."
