IDF Attacks Hamas After IED Discovery

After Friday's fiery riots on the Gaza border, Palestinian terrorists were not through with their attacks on Israel. The Israeli military discovered three terrorists breaching the border and planting explosives in Israel. Ynet News' Yoav Zitun reports that the Israeli Air Force carried out an airstrike against Hamas in response:

Israel Air Force fighter jets attacked a terror target located in a Hamas base in the northern Gaza Strip in the early hours of Monday, in retaliation for the infiltration of three Palestinian terrorists across the border and their planting of improvised explosive devices Sunday.

"Hamas is solely responsible for everything going on in—and out of—the Gaza Strip, both above and below ground," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said after the strike.

"The IDF looks gravely on the attempt lead by Hamas to turn the fence's vicinity into a theater of war, while attempting to damage or tamper with security and defense infrastructures," the statement added.

The IDF, it continued, "will also not allow the cynical use of civilians to serve as a front of terror activities against Israeli civilians and army forces, and will respond to any such attempt," the statement concluded.
