Hamas Celebrates Rocket Barrage

Reports are coming in that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire that would put an end to the two days of rockets that have bombarded the people of Israel, killing one and injuring many, many more. But while we celebrate the end (for now) of this violence, The Times of Israel's Adam Rasgon reports that backers of Hamas in the Gaza Strip are celebrating for a different reason — claiming the barrage of rockets as a victory for the terror group:

As an apparent ceasefire went into effect between Israel and Hamas on Tuesday evening after two days of rocket fire on Israeli towns and retaliatory strikes by Israel, the terror group that rules Gaza sought to depict the cessation of hostilities as a dramatic victory for its side...

Demonstrations by Hamas’s supporters were held throughout Gaza, with marches underway in Khan Younis, Gaza City, Jabalya, and Rafah, Palestinian media outlets reported...

In a speech to Hamas activists in Gaza City in front of the rubble of the Al-Aqsa TV headquarters, destroyed by Israel in an airstrike on Monday night, senior official Ismail Radwan vowed that the group’s rockets “will shake Haifa and Jaffa and Ashkelon” in the future.

“We come out today, celebrating the victory of the resistance, the victory of the Qassam and the victory of the Palestinian resistance here on the mighty land of Gaza,” Radwan said...
