After Terror Attack, Israel on High Alert Ahead of Passover

On Saturday, terror once again struck Jerusalem's Old City, as two young people were stabbed before security forces neutralized the terrorist. Israel Hayom reports that Israeli authorities are on high alert, warning of impending attacks ahead of the upcoming Passover holiday:

The Jerusalem District Police on Sunday declared high alert across the capital, which will be in effect throughout the Passover holiday, beginning on April 10.

The decision followed a terrorist attack in the Old City of Jerusalem Saturday, when a Palestinian terrorist stabbed two youths and tried to stab a border policeman. The terrorist attempted to flee the scene and was killed after a short clash with Border Police...

"We are naturally bolstering [police forces] ahead of the holiday. This escalation is definitely an escalation we must prepare for with additional manpower and be much more vigilant about, even though we've managed to thwart the majority of incidents that took place this past year, and will continue to do so," Halevy said.

He suggested that anyone seeking to fan the flames and prevent people from visiting Jerusalem "think twice."

"We will be much more prepared than in the past, more focused, more vigilant, and we will respond much more quickly, like we have thus far to such incidents," Halevy said...
