Praise for The Bridge Builder

Rave reviews for Rabbi Eckstein’s recent biography, The Bridge Builder, continue to come in. Below is a portion of the latest one, in the Chicago Jewish Star.

An independent thinker and activist, Yechiel Eckstein, an Orthodox rabbi ordained by Yeshiva University in New York, crossed boundaries and broke taboos as he entered unknown, untested territory making common cause with Christian evangelicals in support of Israel and other Jewish causes, seeing himself as a bridge builder.

All along the way, he created controversy and encountered opposition, yet somehow managed to forge ahead, driven by passion and commitment.

The numbers alone testify to Eckstein’s singular successes.

During the 1990s, his program, Wings of Eagles, raised money for immigrants from the former Soviet Union in Israel. By 2000, the amount he raised stood at nearly $30 million.

His Isaiah 58 project raised millions to help the Jews of Russia.
