Let's Make Pear and Ginger Compote!

Last week, we posted a perfect potato latke recipe for the celebration of Hanukkah. And now you can make a sweet topping to serve along with your deliciously fried latkes.

  • 1 ½ tsp crystallized ginger, chopped
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp honey, agave nectar, or maple syrup
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • 2 bosc pears, unpeeled and roughly chopped

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring regularly until the pears soften and soak up the fragrant liquid, about 8 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
