Heartfelt Hanukkah Thanks from Ukraine's Jewish Community

The Fellowship recently received the following letter from the chief rabbi of Donetsk, Ukraine, Rabbi Pinchas Vishedski, thanking us for the Hanukkah assistance – part of The Fellowship's ongoing help to the Jewish community in war-torn Ukraine.Dear Rabbi Eckstein,It is an honor to me to wish you Happy Hanukkah from all Jews from Donetsk and Lugansk region.During these dark times for Ukraine, bloody war in Donbass with millions of innocent deaths, only YOU are the source of LIGHT AND INSPIRATION!Thanks to your special help for Donbass Jews, we had the chance to celebrate Hanukkah on the highest level. We had two special events: Hanukkah for refugees from Donetsk and Lugansk in Kiev, and Hanukkah for Donetsk Jews in occupied war zone.We still remember your warm visit last year, when you joined us in Hanukkah celebration in Kiev to support Jews from war zone and give them a hope for a better future. Everyone who participated in Hanukkah community events got special present from The Fellowship for a good Hanukkah dinner. This year in two cities, community members who are endlessly grateful to you for saving their lives and for the hope they have now, told in your honor warm words – thanks and Hanukkah blessing to you and The Fellowship. I send you few photos from Hanukkah celebration and thank YOU for giving us the chance to have it, for a possibility to spread the light of Hanukkah, and for your personal example of humanity and kindness.Chag Sameach (Happy Holidays),Rabbi Pinchas Vishedski
