June 24, 2015 By The FellowshipMilana, 4, has beautiful brown eyes, but they are often sad and downcast. She lives in a small, old apartment in Belarus with her mother and grandmother, and though she is surrounded by love, she does not have much else.Milana does not know her father, who wants nothing to do with his family and provides no financial support. Her mother has developmental issues, which for many years made it difficult for her to find work, and the small salary she now earns working as a custodian is not enough to live on. The family’s finances are especially strained because Milana has a number of health problems that require expensive medication. She was born with a congenital heart problem, and she also has problems with her lungs. Several months ago, she was hospitalized with a dangerous case of bronchitis. Following her hospitalization, The Fellowship purchased an inhaler for Milana, which the family believes saved her life. “Without the inhaler, Milana would gasp for air and there was nothing we could do,” her grandmother said. The Fellowship also provided Milana with the medications she needed to recover and heal, and the whole family was so grateful. In addition to this emergency assistance, The Fellowship also helps this family on a regular basis, providing them with a monthly food card, which is especially important for Milana since she has numerous food allergies and must follow a special diet. The Fellowship’s help truly is a lifesaving blessing for this family in need!
