The Fellowship Grieves for a Dear Friend

Today, we mourn the passing of a great man and staunch friend of Israel and The Fellowship – John French, who died yesterday at the age of 87.

Mr. French joined The Fellowship’s board of directors in 1993, and remained as co-chair of the board until 2008, when he retired. Ever eager to serve, he returned to the board in 2011, only stepping down from this role last month. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and son, Phillip.

The Bible tells us, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them” (Psalm 126:5-6). We ask for prayers for the French family, and for all who loved John, as they grieve their loss. But we also celebrate John French’s life and all he was able to accomplish during it, and ask that you pray that God will raise up more people like him – men and women who love Israel and commit themselves to supporting and protecting the Jewish state and her people wherever they may be.
