Today is Simchat Torah, the Jewish holiday that marks the beginning and ending of the annual cycle of Torah readings that take place in synagogues around the world. This day also brings the week-long Sukkot holiday to a close.

Jews celebrate Simchat Torah by singing and dancing with the Torah scrolls that grace each synagogue, rejoicing in the gift of God’s Word.
