Project Spotlight: Yad B’Yad Soup Kitchen

Yad B’Yad (which means “hand in hand”) caters to the needs of the most desperate citizens of Israel — Holocaust survivors, single parents, handicapped veterans, lonely elderly, and new immigrants. Without this critical aid, supported by funds from The Fellowship‘s generous donors, these recipients would be without help and hope.
Based in Lod, a city that has been ravaged by crime and drugs in recent years, Yad B’Yad provides needy people throughout Israel with food, as well as furniture, clothing, shoes, beds, blankets, and winter coats.
One of this organization’s biggest efforts is food distribution. Through their work, hundreds of families who would otherwise go hungry receive warm meals daily. They also distribute food before important Jewish holidays.
Rabbi Eckstein and his daughter Yael recently visited the Yad B’Yad soup kitchen, helping to serve the visitors and assure them that they are not forgotten.
