Project Spotlight: School Bags for Israeli Children in Need

Many needy families in Israel don’t have the financial means to purchase backpacks or school supplies for their children. Recently, The Fellowship distributed backpacks for children in need along with our partners Yad B’Yad, an organization that distributes basic needs like food, school bags, and winter blankets to impoverished residents in Lod, Israel, and neighboring cities.

Some of the families receiving school supplies are new olim (immigrants) who made aliyah (immigrated to Israel) on Fellowship Freedom Flights within the past year, like 9-year-old Katsiaryna and her father, Vadzim, (pictured above) who made aliyah from Belarus. She received a new school bag and pencil case to start off the new school year.
