Project Spotlight: Fellowship-supported World ORT

The Fellowship  |  September 17, 2019

The Fellowship has provided funding each year since 2006 to World ORT-sponsored schools for needy Jewish students in the former Soviet Union (FSU). Part of the grant is used for school lunches, but the funding is also used to provide safe transportation for many impoverished students and to help secure the school facilities in areas where anti-Semitism is still prevalent in the FSU. World ORT’s network of 17 Jewish schools provides core education and Jewish studies, including groundbreaking technology centers in vocational schools throughout the FSU. In the photo above, second graders from the Vilnius ORT Jewish Gymnasium say thank you to World ORT and The Fellowship for helping to provide a minibus for them!
