Project Spotlight: Equipping Israel’s Hospitals

Lokomat Walking Therapy machine (Photo: Avi Hiyon)

Recently, The Fellowship and Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein provided a $1 million gift to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem. The gift allowed the hospital to purchase a Lokomat therapy machine, which provides robot-assisted walking therapy, and will treat wounded soldiers, terror victims, and wheelchair bound patients. The hospital also purchased equipment for the Department of Cardiology.

The hospital is thrilled to offer physical therapy with the Lokomat machine, which uses a robotic device to help people whose ability to walk has been impaired from a stroke, spinal cord or brain injury, or suffer from a neurological or orthopedic condition. With this therapy, patients can learn to walk again, bringing new hope and healing to many.

Recently, Rabbi Eckstein visited Hadassah Medical Center for the dedication of the Lokomat machine, along with Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon and Dalia Itzik, a former MK and government minister who currently serves as Chair of the Board of Hadassah International in Israel.

Thank you to all our donors who continue to support important Fellowship projects like this one!
