In honor of Easter, Yassar Alsaad, The Fellowship's field coordinator in Jerusalem, decided to organize a special activity in cooperation with the Department of Welfare and Fellowship volunteers, bringing together Israelis of various ages and faiths to bring joy to some elderly Christians in the Holy City.

Yassar organized participants in The Fellowship’s With Dignity and Fellowship program, which offers aid to impoverished elderly, as well as Fellowship volunteers to bake cookies for Easter for Christians in Jerusalem.

It was exciting to see elderly and volunteers from all denominations preparing dough for the cookies together. When the preparations were completed, they brought the dough to the homes of elderly volunteers who baked the cookies in stone ovens.

Over 100 young Fellowship volunteers from a local school decorated and packaged the cookies. Postcards wishing recipients a happy Easter were attached to each package. Fellowship volunteers then delivered the cookies to nearly 200 Christian participants in the With Dignity and Fellowship program.

One of the elderly recipients said, "Thank you for bringing these wonderful Easter cookies! I haven't had any in years. This is the first time that my tears are tears of happiness and excitement. I'm happy that there's someone who thinks about us. We love you and appreciate what you do."
