Faces of The Fellowship: Daniel

Faces of The Fellowship: Daniel (Photo: Chamah)

Daniel’s parents wondered why their son didn’t play make believe games with his dolls and friends the way children usually do. The family had recently escaped war-torn Ukraine and were living in Moscow, and Daniel’s mother, Olga, was able to bring Daniel to the Fellowship-supported Chamah Center for Child Development for help.

Daniel was sent for a hearing test and was examined by other specialists. The autistic spectrum is quite broad, however, and the staff at the center determined that Daniel has a form of this disorder. They devised a plan of treatment to help him.

At first, Daniel would cry when his mom brought him in for treatment, but slowly Daniel began to enjoy his therapies and even looked forward to them. He works with a speech therapist and enjoys playing with the other children at the center.

With patience and determination from his teachers and his parents, Daniel is making great progress! Olga is grateful to the excellent professionals at the center and to Fellowship friends around the world who made this transformation in her son possible.
