As the Dead Sea Dries, Its Collapsing Shores Force a Return to Nature

Sinkholes – dangerous pits that form when groundwater dissolves the earth above – are appearing all around the Dead Sea. This has been happening since the 1980s, but today there are over 6,000 holes, causing people to stay away.
